Batik Tulis Solo has got recognition

UNESCO, United Nations (UN) that handles education, science, and culture, has set a batik Indonesia especially batik art painting or batik tulis as the world’s cultural heritage native Indonesia. Inauguration took place on 2 October 2009 with the department of Culture and Tourism. Inauguration is accompanied also  with Solo as The city of batik. it  so suitable that part of African batik fabric is imported from indonesia.

Batik Tulis or batik painting is made by hand (using a canting), not by way of in-branded or printing. Therefore, known batik  art painting or batik tulis  will be unique, luxurious, and very expensive. Batik  Communities and local batik expert support in a way to make a statement and documentation of the existence of batik art painting or batik tulis. Simultaneously, the government, experts, organizations / institutions, craftsmen, and community members to more actively expanding. The result, escaped batik and verification study conducted during the 3 years, by the representative countries of UNESCO.

Just to know, puppets and kris have gained international recognition, some time ago. Today, Indonesia is struggling to Gamelan and Angklung can follow the same trail. Hopefully Indonesian culture can be better known and worldwide. We also hope that international recognition can be more welfare for the craftsmen in the country. Concretely, we (especially the younger generation) should continue to conserve, develop, and nurture our love on the products own native culture of country.
